Iran Freedom Congress

The Broadest Unified Iranian Opposition Body Since 1979

One-Pager (Print / PDF) Discuss a Gift

It began as six people around a London table. Today the Iran Freedom Congress is a body of more than 500 members: every Iranian ethnic community represented, a majority-female executive. The Congress belongs to Iranians. The Forum convened the founding table, staffs the scaffolding, and keeps the room funded.

The Record
•An inaugural congress in London drew some 400 participants, the broadest unified opposition assembly since 1979.
•Working groups stood up on transition governance, the economy, women, youth, and foreign relations.
•A 28-member National Reconciliation Council framework drafted: the day-after plan, written before it is needed, because that is when it is useful.
What Is Next

Follow-on convenings in Europe; a Congressional Summit in Washington planned with Freedom House; and the working groups’ policy papers moved into the hands that will need them.

500+
Members, every Iranian ethnic community represented, with a majority-female executive.
What a Gift Funds
Convenings, working-group staffing, and the policy frameworks, including the National Reconciliation Council proposal, that give the opposition an intellectual backbone.
